News-Antique.com - Sep 04,2016 - Philadelphia, PA – For Immediate Release – September 4, 2016 – Mid-Century Modern, Industrial Antiques, Classic Antiques, Vintage, estate finds, found objects and collectibles are on tap for buyers this fall who will be part of a small-group shopping trip to Europe.
Tourists are heading home and it’s the best time of year for an antiques getaway to Europe. Only two spaces are left.
The Fall Antiques Extravaganza, September 23 – October 4, 2016, will be led by Philadelphia-based Treasures of Europe Tours, whose trips have been featured in Country Living magazine, USA Today and Australian House and Garden.
The September trip is the season’s premier small-group antique shopping tour to flea markets, antique fairs, vintage sources, warehouses, shops, wholesalers and antique markets in Belgium and Germany.
“This is not your mother’s antique tour,” says dealer Tom Conrad, who will lead the expedition.
Today’s buyers want something more than the classic “white-glove tour.” They’re hands-on and design-driven. They think in new categories and experiment with different styles. They’re interested new destinations and under-the-radar sources in parts of Europe many Americans overlook.
“Germany and Belgium are terrific alternatives to higher-priced France, Italy and the U.K., where many American antique lovers and vintage fans shop,” adds Conrad.
Stops on the fall antique and vintage tour include imperial Leipzig, small towns and villages in the nooks and crannies of Franconia and Saxony, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage City, Bamberg.
In addition, the group will visit Belgium’s fabled antiques capital, Tongeren, as well as dealers in Antwerp, Lokeren, Temse and other villages and towns in the northern Flemish-speaking part of the country.
Dealers are motivated and prices at the markets and shops are reasonable. That, plus the strong dollar and the fact that most purchases are tax free, makes the tour attractive for dealers, designers, online sellers, collectors, trend scouts and adventurers who are shopping for quality antiques and vintage finds.
Industrial, Vintage, Mid-Century Modern, antique furniture, smalls and art, retro and rustic, estate treasures, decorative arts, lighting, textiles and linens, ceramics, architecturals, farm items and furnishings in all price ranges will be on tap during the tour.
“We make it a point to include sources with items at every spot on the price spectrum -- high-style, mid-range and low-cost items," says Conrad.
Extensive prep materials, airport transfers, full itinerary, private coach, driver, accommodations, breakfast, guide, technical assistance and help with translation are included. Cost-effective group shipping is available.
The fall trip is popular and there are only two spaces left. Essentials, pricing, itinerary and reservations at www.TreasuresOfEuropeTours.com.
