News-Antique.com - Aug 16,2016 - WORCESTER, Mass. – Four volumes of “Les Maitres de l'Affiche” will highlight Central Mass Auctions’ multi-estate antiques auction on Thursday, August 25, 2016. The “Masters of the Poster” books are highly sought after. The books were created by Jules Cheret to showcase some of the great work being created by French artists at the turn of the century. Toulouse-Lautrec, Cheret and Mucha are among the many artists whose posters appear in the series.
Along with the rare books, an eclectic mix of antiques and collectibles from multiple estates will also be featured. Postcards written by Alexander Graham Bell to his attorney in Boston discuss a wide variety of matters from his need to discuss telegraphy to his skepticism of a psychic medium.
A 3.5 Brilliant Cut Diamond Ring will be one of the many pieces of estate jewelry included in this sale. Many rolls of Walking Liberty and Franklin silver half dollars are among the many gold and silver coins included in this auction. Kirk and Son, Towle, Lunt and Westmoreland are just some of the makers of Sterling Silver flatware to be included. A Wurlitzer 61 Juke Box will also be among the other items offered.
