The sale is particularly strong on lacquer art. Highlights include a work from the collection of Ambassador Joaquim Eulalio Nascimento da Silva (1883-1965) – lot 42: A CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER PANEL. Following previous successes in the field of cloisonné enamel, the sale will include lot 101, A MASSIVE CHINESE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER. Qing Dynasty, early 19th Century.31cm H. (Estimate: £2,000 – 3,000).
Ceramic highlights from the sale include lot 25, A CHINESE YELLOW AND GREEN BOWL. Qing Dynasty, Kangxi mark and of the period. 6.5cm H, 12.5cm diameter. (Estimate: £5,000 – 6,000).
We also offer lot 328, A TIBETAN GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF A BARDO DEITY. 18th Century. 20cm H. Provenance: Spink and Sons, purchased by the present owner in the 1980s. (Estimate: £1,500 – 2,000).
