JustCollecting's head writer, Dan Wade, commented: "Top grade Bowie signed photos were selling for around £150 in December. The jump to £450 is akin to the spike we saw following Michael Jackson's death in 2009.
"Financially, now is the worst time to buy a Bowie signature. Better to wait a few months, when I'm anticipating values to decline somewhat (although not anywhere near £150 levels again) as the fervour surrounding Bowie subsides.
"After this, I expect to see values slowly increase again over the coming years now that the supply of Bowie autographs is capped."

The JustCollecting Dead Rock Stars Autograph Index tracks the value of investment-grade dead rock stars' autographs using analysis of auctions and private sales, in addition to expert opinion. Values shown are an evaluation of the market value for a fully authenticated, "best quality" signed photo (unless otherwise stated). A “best quality” example will feature a photograph in superb condition, depicting the subject in their most famous era, with a sharp, clear signature acquired during that period.
