Aladdin Lamp Auction July 17 The National Association of Aladdin Lamp Collectors will open their Thursday Aladdin lamp auction to the public. The auction will be held at the Marriott East Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana.
News-Antique.com - Jun 25,2014 - The NAALC, (National Association of Aladdin Lamp Collectors) for the first time in 42 years will open their Thursday Aladdin lamp auction to the public. The auction will be held July 17th, 2014 at the Marriott East Hotel, 7202 E. 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Preview 8 A M and auction starts 9:15 AM.
In addition to the auction, the public is also invited to attend the group's annual lamp show.
All items, common to rare, are from the collections of the NAALC members. More than 300 items will be offered, all consigned by NAALC members. Among the items featured will be electrics and kerosene lamps, finials, hanging lamps, shades and parts. Highlights include a Hopalong Cassidy bunkhouse electric lamp with its original shade, 1912-13 Model 4 student lamp, Florentine kerosene lamps in three different colors, Lady figurines, the hard-to-find Rooster lamp, rare blue moonstone Short Lincoln Drape and early Aladdinite paper shades.
Defects will be noted and reserves will be announced. A 5 percent buyer's premium will be charged. Credit cards are accepted with no additional fee. The auction listing can be seen on AuctionZip.com, ID# 38640.
The lamp show opens Friday July 18th from 3 P M to 6 P M and Saturday from 9 A M to 3 P M at the same location with 150 tables of lamps, shades and parts of all brands 1850 to 1950. The admission price is $5.00
The NAALC has 1000 plus members in the U.S., Canada, Australia, England, China, Netherlands, Italy and Israel. All lighting clubs are invited to attend and share information. They include the Rushlight Club, Historic Lighting Society from Canada, Miniature Night Lights, Fairy Lamps and the Coleman Collectors.
