News-Antique.com - Jun 02,2014 - Kansas City, Mo. (June 2, 2014) – Harry Truman, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Benito Mussolini, Erwin Rommel, and Jimmy Doolittle are just a few of the notable WWII military personality material featured through Andrew Turner Auctions in Kansas City.
“We recently acquired a massive collection of signatures and ephemera from a private collection,” said auctioneer Andrew Turner. “Our consignor spent decades procuring the material, and had almost everything displayed in a private museum in Shawnee, Kansas.”
The initial offering of the material is exclusively available online, through the online auction company AuctionZip, and closes June 8, 2014. A link to all items available can be found on the Andrew Turner Auctions website: www.atakc.com.
“There are several hundred lots to be sold before it's complete,” said Turner. “The first offering consists of about 50 select items, but we're selling other lots in our regular Thursday night estate and consignment auctions – and may have a special live auction as well. Even if the auctions aren't online, bidders who can't make the auction can view preview photos and video on our website and place absentee bids with our staff.”
The majority of the items are professionally framed and ready for display; they were recently removed directly from walls of the consignor's private museum.
“It was amazing to go into the space, inconspicuously located in a small strip mall,” said Turner. “Hundreds of signed photos, posters, insignia, and other pieces covered the walls. No one really even knew it was there, he only opened it by appointment and for friends and family . . . it was kind of overwhelming, really – I'd never seen anything like it and I'm honored to handle the sale.”
The online auction closes Sunday, June 8th at 8 pm. To view items, receive email notification for upcoming auctions, and for more information, visit www.atakc.com or call 816.960.4664.
