Grey Flannel Announces February Auction Including Most Talked About Babe Ruth-Signed Baseball Family–held 1926 archive documents fabled event in which Babe Ruth promised gravely ill child ‘I’ll Knock A Homer For You’
The Little Johnny Sylvester collection, which was on loan to the Babe Ruth Museum for more than 25 years, comes to Grey Flannel’s Feb. 6 auction directly from its owner, John Sylvester Jr. The impeccable provenance and importance of the artifacts contained in the Sylvester family archive cannot be overstated.
A public display of this famous collection of American history will be held 12 noon to 5 p.m. from Jan. 22-26 and Jan. 29-Feb. 2 (closed on public holidays) at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, 8 Quarry Rd., Little Falls, New Jersey (20 miles from New York City via I-80). Details will be announced soon regarding a press conference at the museum with John Sylvester Jr.
