PLENTY OF THE UNUSUAL TO BE FOUND AT THE ESHER HALL ANTIQUES & FINE ART FAIR Catch a fallen star at this year’s Esher Hall Antiques & Fine Art Fair at Esher Hall, Sandown Park Racecourse, Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey KT10 9AJ
several paintings from the area and environs, most notable amongst which is ‘The Footpath by the Waterlane’ by popular Victorian artist, Myles Birket Foster RWS (1825-1899) for sale from John Robertson, priced at £65,000. The artist lived for many years in Witley before moving to Weybridge, where he ended his days. This painting was originally exhibited at The Royal Watercolour Society Summer Exhibition in 1892. Other Surrey landscapes can be found on Cambridge Fine Art’s stand. Berkshire also features with an oil on canvas by Peter Biegel painted in 1949, ‘The Wokingham Stakes, Royal Ascot’ priced at £6,000 from The Swan Gallery. Amongst the canvases for sale from Haynes Fine Art of Broadway is ‘The baby and the blue forget me not’ (£89,500) by British Impressionist Dorothea Sharp (1874 – 1955), who lived in Berkshire, London and St Ives. With the huge success of the Lowry exhibition presently at Tate Britain it is timely to find two sketches by LS Lowry (1887-1976) ‘Steam Dredger’ in pencil (£48,500) and ‘Street scene’ in pencil and ink (£47,500).

The fair is supporting two charities, each having a presence at the fair - The Art Fund, helping museums and galleries buy art for everyone to enjoy and The Poppy Factory, based in Richmond, who work to help wounded, injured and sick ex-Service men and women find meaningful and sustainable employment in the communities where they live in the UK.
The fair is staged in association with two Westerham based partner practices of St. James's Place Wealth Management: David Stainton (Associate Partner) and Elegant Solutions (UK) LLP (Senior Partner Practice).
Refreshments are available throughout the day and ample free parking makes it easy to spend a relaxed and fulfilling day enjoying all that is on offer.
