News-Antique.com - Apr 05,2013 - The Auction Room, the UK's only exclusively online fine art auction house which launched last month, will hold their inaugural sale of Middle Eastern Contemporary Art on June 24 2013 with a London exhibition - offering collectors in the capital the exclusive opportunity to view the works in person before being offered on the international internet auction platform.
The auction will include paintings, photographs and sculpture at all price points from young emerging artists to established, sought-after names in the art world. Key works by artists such as Ahmed Alsoudani, Ghada Amer, Ali Banisadr, Mohamed Ehsai, Mona Hatoum and Youssef Nabil will be offered.
Specialist in charge of the sale is Janet Rady, the gallery director, curator and art advisor who brings over 25 years of experience of the international art market to The Auction Room.
Based between London and the United Arab Emirates, for the past six years Janet Rady has represented a wide range of cutting edge contemporary Arab and Iranian artists, as well as international artists whose work references the Middle East.
"Contemporary Middle Eastern art has, in the last few years witnessed one of the fastest growing markets of the art world," she said. "In less than a decade, interest in this area has expanded exponentially from a position of a handful of isolated galleries and individual artists operating in the region to international auction houses holding regular dedicated sales.
"With the current strength of the market, I am thrilled to be holding the first auction of Contemporary Middle Eastern Art at The Auction Room".
