News-Antique.com - Feb 27,2013 - PFC Auctions (Guernsey) 28 February sale features a series of previously unseen photographs of Cuban revolutionaries Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.
Lot 107 features 12 previously unpublished black and white photographs of Che Guevara at various political meetings, and smiling while meeting supporters on the streets of Havana. Each photograph measures approximately 4˝" x 6" and has been printed from the original negative (not included in the sale).
Lot 96 is a set of three original photographic prints of Fidel Castro making a political address, whilst Lot 97 shows 2 x black and white vintage portraits of Fidel Castro taken in the early 60s.
In addition to the photos the online auction features a rare Cuban $6m Bond (Lot 105) issued 7 February 1961, signed by Che Guevara, and a handwritten note signed by Che Guevara (Lot 106) dated November 1958, just a few months prior to Batista being ousted.
Lot 95 is a fine edition of ‘La Historia Me Absolvera’, dated October 1955, signed by Fidel Castro with a handwritten note.
The final lot in the Cuban memorabilia section is Lot 103 A set of 10 rare posters issued by the Cuban Communist Party to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Cuban revolution.
Auctioneer Adrian Roose commented "There is a growing interest in Cuban Memorabilia, especially that relating to Che Guevara. A lock of his hair memorably sold at auction for $119,000 so we are confident the previously unpublished photos will sell well."
