Antique School Provides The Asheford Institute Of Antiques is to begin supplying Antique Trader with certified appraisal graduates to conduct appraisals for the paper's readership in their "Ask The Experts" column...
News-Antique.com - Feb 05,2013 - Florida - The Asheford Institute Of Antiques (A.I.A.), the world’s foremost school on antiques, collectibles and appraising, has teamed up with the Antique Trader (the nations leading publication on all things antique and collectible), to launch a national newspaper column titled, "Ask The Experts." In an agreement brokered between the two entities in February of this year, the Institute will now be providing Antique Trader with its top appraisal graduates, who will be working as a rotating team of "expert appraisers," answering any number of questions directed to them from the paper's readership about antiques, collectibles and memorabilia.
As part of the “guest appraisers” program, readers of the Antique Trader will receive top-notch expert information and evaluation from a number of different Asheford appraisers, when submitting queries and comments to the paper. "It's a super opportunity for all involved..." said, Charles Green, director of the school, "We know how great our appraisal graduates are, and this is really just a way of paying-it forward - they get to help out the readers, and they get a little professional exposure in the process."
Subscribers to Antique Trader will be able to send their questions and photos directly to the editorial staff via mail or email, who will in turn forward all inquiries to the Institute. The selection process for choosing which appraisers will represent Asheford in the columns of Antique Trader is ongoing, and according to Green, "A fairly lengthy procedure. We've got a database full of expert appraisers, so choosing who we're going to use first, may take a little time, but we should be up and running quite soon."
The Antique Trader also released a statement stressing that it was delighted to have the Asheford Institute and their team of expert appraisers on board with them, as they've had a great working relationship with the school in the past, and thought this might be a good way to continue building on that relationship, "We're excited to bring readers insights from some of Asheford's finest antiques and collectibles appraisers... we think it'll certainly help readers get the answers they need, and when we consider it's coming from one of the best possible sources out there, the Asheford Institute, we couldn't be more pleased!"
Publication dates have yet to be determined, but Green said privately, "I think you can expect to see our team of "Expert Appraisers" start to appear in the columns of Antique Trader probably in the next few weeks...we've got a March 2013 deadline, and we're going to make every effort to stick to it!"
