Gargoyle Gallery Fine Prints (MA), Marc Chabot Fine Arts (CT) and Tom Boss Fine Art (MA), along with others. 31Galerie (France) will offer fine art photography, and AW Massey Fine Art (FL) will offer modern masters.
A special exhibition throughout the weekend at the show will feature contemporary furniture designer by alumni furniture makers of North Bennett Street School in Boston. As always, Design Museum Boston will be on hand to introduce visitors to its unique programs.
The show opens Thursday, March 21, with a Gala Preview from 5:30-8:30pm, with all proceeds benefiting Boston Architectural College (BAC), New England's largest independent, accredited college of spatial design. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Boston collector and philanthropist John P. Axelrod at 6:00pm at the Gala. Last year's Gala was attended by more than 600 people and raised over $100,000. The show continues Friday, March 22 from 1-8pm, Saturday, March 23 from 11am-8pm, and Sunday March 24 from 11am-5pm. Weekend admission is $15, under 12 free, and includes a complimentary color show catalog, admission to all special programs at the fair. Valet and discount parking is available, and the show café is catered by Jules Catering.
The Cyclorama provides the ideal venue for this exciting show. Built in 1884 to house an enormous panorama painting (a "cyclorama") of the Battle of Gettysburg, the large circular rotunda and adjacent salons encourage visitors to both linger and wander throughout the show. The historic structure is the heart of the Boston Center for the Arts complex, which boasts four theatres, a gallery, the Boston Ballet School, 50 artist studios and other facilities. There are more than a dozen "hot" restaurants and nightspots within a five-minute walk.
The Cyclorama has become a mecca in Boston for the arts, and is also the location for Fusco & Four's annual Boston International Fine Art Show (BIFAS), which has been running for 16 years. Fusco & Four also re-launched the Ellis Boston Antiques Show at The Cyclorama last year. For more information on all three shows, visit www.BostonArtFairs.com.
