Woody Auction to offer American Brilliant Cut Glass on March 2nd in St. Charles, Mo. Woody Auction will ring in the New Year with a sale packed with over 400 lots of American Brilliant Cut Glass on Saturday, Mar. 2, in Grand Ballroom A of the St. Charles Convention Center in Missouri.
a scarce 4 ¼ inch by 8 ¾ inch bowl in the Columbia pattern and an equally rare 4 ½ inch by 6 inch signed tazza (shallow bowl of wide form, standing on a footed stem) in the Aztec pattern, with petticoat hobstar base having one scallop with a tiny nick. Also offered will be a beautiful and rare 7-inch signed Libbey square plate in the Aztec pattern.
Rounding out just some of the day’s expected top lots are a 5 inch by 11 inch bowl by J. Hoare (Pattern #5353), with an inch-thick blank and three layers of glass, making it outstanding; and a 14 ¾ inch by 15 inch signed Fry two-part pedestal punch bowl in the beautiful Chicago pattern, with brilliant blank, fine cutting, elegant shape and six matching pedestal punch cups.
Phone and absentee bids will be accepted. All absentee bids should be submitted with a written statement indicating the amount of the bid. These must be received no later than noon Thurs., Feb. 28. Woody Auction's next big sale after this one will be an antique auction scheduled for Saturday, March 16, in the 4H Hall of the Sedgwick County Extension Center in Wichita, Kan.
