News-Antique.com - Nov 09,2012 - Altadena, CA - John Moran Auctioneers is delighted to ring in the holidays with their inaugural Headquarters Auction, a sale of fine jewelry, watches, coins and luxury accessories scheduled for December 6, 2012. Moran’s Headquarters, or HQ Auctions, are the Southern California house’s new series of sale events, to be held at their facility in Altadena rather than at their customary venue, the Pasadena Convention Center. While Moran’s regular auctions at the Center will continue on their regular schedule, the HQ auctions will be a more intimate affair as the family-owned company warmly welcomes bidders at their legendary home base. Moran’s will launch the event in the festive spirit of the season with a holiday gala and preview on Wednesday, December 5th, followed by an extended preview and the auction sale on Thursday, December 6th. As always, the events will be open to the public and free to attend.
Over three hundred items will be offered, each and every one culled from private collections and estates across Southern California and beyond. Seasoned buyers and casual shoppers alike will find a wide range of price points suiting every budget, from the practical to the extravagant, just in time for holiday gift-giving. Those familiar with previous John Moran Jewelry auctions will be pleased to note that every single lot in the sale will be photographed, catalogued, posted online, and available for bidding online, via telephone, and absentee in addition to floor bidding.
The preview on Wednesday the 5th will begin at noon, and continue into the evening. At 6 p.m., the event will transition into a casual pre-auction holiday party, featuring a wine bar and hors d’oeuvres provided by the Kitchen for Exploring Foods. The public is encouraged to explore John Moran’s headquarters, meet the staff, and continue previewing the lots available in the upcoming sale. A raffle that evening will give attendees the opportunity to go home with an Apple iPad Mini, among other prizes. An RSVP is kindly requested for those who wish to attend the holiday gathering.
Previews will resume on Thursday the 6th at noon, and the HQ auction will begin at 6:00 p.m.
