News-Antique.com - Sep 17,2012 - (TULSA, Okla.) – Hundreds of items from three prominent local restaurants – to include antiques, memorabilia, decorations and restaurant equipment and furniture – plus many other items from a large restaurant supply house will be sold at auction on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. (CDT), by Browne Auction Specialists. The auction will be held at the Tulsa Business Park.
The many items, some of them rare and unusual, were used in the restaurants’ day-to-day operations over the past 30 years. A preview will be held on the morning of the sale, from 8 a.m. until the first gavel comes down at 10 a.m. There will be no Internet bidding. The Tulsa Business Park is located at 7256 East 38th Street in Tulsa, near East 41st Street and South Memorial Drive.
“This auction will attract two audiences – folks from the restaurant industry who will be astounded at the selection presented to them from three established restaurants and a large supply firm, and one interested in the many antiques, collectibles and memorabilia items on display,” said Ron Browne of Browne Auction Specialists, headquartered at 2845 East 84th Street in Tulsa.
The antiques and collectibles will include many old bottles from the 1800s, vintage toys and trucks (to include examples by Buddy L and Marx), Norman Rockwell collector plates (new in the box), vintage oil cans, rare chalk piggy banks, porcelain cups and saucers, porcelain pots, little brown jugs, a salt glass urn and jugs, some primitives and more.
Antique furniture items will feature a Victorian buffet, an oak mission desk, an oak back board, a 1920s oak dentist's cabinet, custom wicker furniture, an oak dresser and a nice oak armoire covered with shelving. Also offered will be an antique commercial weight scale, a mounted sailfish, wooden barn hay pulleys, branding irons, dated spurs and many other items.
The memorabilia items will include a Tri Zone pinball machine (plus an older pinball machine), over 40 pairs of old leather cowboy boots, beach-themed artwork, more than 50 framed pictures and signs, Western memorabilia and equipment, miscellaneous brass items, themed decorations, Art Deco lighting baskets, mirrors, lobster traps and fishing reels and poles.
Other memorabilia items will feature old and new artwork, old signs (some vintage and some reproductions), Art Deco signage, attractive old architectural lighting, a pink sewing machine, many framed theme pictures, framed pictures by the noted artist Stephen Morath, fishing-themed items, several vintage leather saddles, books, decorations and other items.
The restaurant equipment will include a high-end Pasta Magic Italian pasta machine, stainless steel area tables with a sink and cut-out for a beverage machine, two large Master-Bilt walk-in coolers, under-counter stainless steel shelving, over 30 wire shelves, seating booths, benches, flower pots, five fryers, three 1,000-lb. ice bins and hood vent fans.
