Red Baron's will hold an inaugural auction in Atlanta Sept. 29th Red Baron’s Private Reserve – the new incarnation of the venerable auction firm formerly known as Red Baron Antiques – will hold an inaugural sale on Saturday, Sept. 29, in its new Atlanta gallery.
feet long; a large oak fireplace mantel with marble eggs from the George Eastman mansion on the Hudson River in New York; three carved oak confessionals; a European wrought iron elevator cage set with gilt detail (circa 1880); and a stained, leaded and layered glass window depicting a forestry landscape with stream, manufactured by Bogenrief Studios.
Bars and commercial structures will feature a fine mahogany pharmacy, quite possibly the best in the world, with mirrored back, shelves, drawers, curved beveled glass and etched glass (by Knight Soda Fountain Co., Chicago Center); a Brunswick triple arch deco bar with matching front bar; and an exquisite nautical bar in mahogany with features resembling a ship.
Outdoor items will include a large green wrought iron solarium with tempered glass and detailed scroll work decoration, 17 feet tall by 28 feet long by 15 feet wide; a cast-iron gazebo with top and twisted columns, 122 inches in diameter by 156 inches tall (counting the top); and a large pair of iron entry gates with granite columns (call Red Baron’s for this lot’s dimensions).
“Mantiques” are currently in vogue and this sale’s got plenty, to include a Koken barber shop supply crescent double-seated shoe shine stand with rare marble bottom housing storage drawers; and a carved and painted full-size wooden Ford Model T car. Also, for the man-sized bedroom, is a carved mahogany and kingwood five-piece bedroom set depicting religious scenes.
