In addition to jewelry, Moran’s August 28 auction will offer a small but distinguished group of vintage designer clothing and accessories, and antiques and decorative arts items, including bronze sculptures, silver, furniture, and porcelain. Two charming antique lots nicely complement the jewelry offerings: jewelry boxes modeled as miniature furniture, one as a Louis XV style marquetry commode with gilt metal mounts, the other as a Louis XVI style table vitrine, both exquisitely crafted. The silver includes a set of Georg Jensen flatware, and a set of very heavy, hand-hammered sterling plates made by John O. Bellis in the Arts and Crafts ‘’Fourteenth Century Style’’ popularized by San Francisco, California company Shreve and Co.
Fine art will also be up for sale, with thirty European, British and American paintings and prints by listed artists, with some remarkable values ranging in price from $200 up.
A fully illustrated catalogue with condition reports will be available at www.johnmoran.com 2-3 weeks prior to the sale date. Updated highlights are viewable at www.johnmoran.com. Private previews are available by appointment. All of Moran’s sales are conducted at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA. Bidding is available from the floor and via absentee, telephone or online through Artfact.com and LiveAuctioneers.com. The sale will begin at 3:00 pm PST on August 28th.
