Lee Falk Collection on Display and Sale at San Diego Comic Con Collecting original comic strip art has become an asset class investment and San Diego Comic Con will offer a rare opportunity to purchase original art of the original costumed superhero, The Phantom.
News-Antique.com - Jul 11,2012 - San Diego Comic Con is the ultimate for Comic Collectors, and the opportunity to buy original art is one of the main reasons many collectors flock to this massive event.
The Phantom was the very first costumed superhero created in 1934 by Lee Falk, and Mandrake the Magician is the subject of a new Warner Brothers movie in development.
Elizabeth Falk, the widow of creator Lee Falk, will make an appearance at San Diego Comic Con in Mike Carbonaro’s Booth #1000, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 13-15.
Mike Carbo will be offering for sale the original Comic Strip Art from the Lee Falk Collection featuring artists Wilson McCoy, Sy Barry, Phil Davis and Fred Fredericks creating the art of The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician.
All original artwork will include a Certificate of Authentication signed by Elizabeth Falk, Lee’s wife of 30 years, along with assisting Lee with stories, editing and as his inspiration and muse.
Elizabeth will be appearing in the booth each day from 11 am until 4 pm.
A special event will occur at 3:00 pm Friday and 3:00 pm Saturday. Anyone who comes to Booth #1000 dressed as The Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Lothar or either of Lee Falk’s Heroines Diana or Narda for a Photo Op will each receive an original comic strip artwork of their character from the Lee Falk Collection.
