News-Antique.com - Jul 08,2012 - I sell equipment to clean all types of antique glass except flat pieces. It is currently in use world wide by antique dealers, collectors, and companies.
Any type glass can be cleaned using this system and this includes etching and scratching as well as minerals that have adhered to the glass over time.
The system includes a machine, a motor package, canisters, copper and oxide. Oxides are the agents that actually do the work. The copper pushes the oxide against the glass. Water is used as a cooling and rinsing agent as the piece tumbles.
Different type oxides are used depending on the type glass and the "sickness" condition. If the piece only has minerals attached to it, it only needs to be polshed. If th pieces has some etching and/or scratching, it will need a more agressive oxide to cut out the scrathing and/or etching the be polished to bring it back to its original beauty.
It doesn't matter the color of the glass item or age.
