Featured will be Part 1 of The Finger Lakes Collection from upstate New York – all high-end American and European toy trains by makers such as European Stations, American Flyer, Lionel, Marklin, Bing, Ives and others. The auction will also have toys, toy soldiers and more.
Philip Weiss Auctions also has another three-day extravaganza scheduled – for June 14-16. The Thursday, June 14 session, starting at 2 p.m., will be dedicated to toys, toy trains, play sets and more. Trains will feature HO Brass engines, Lionel, American Flyer and MTH. Also offered will be pressed steel trucks, tin lithographed character toys, toy soldiers and more.
Friday, June 15 (also with a 2 p.m. start time) will feature mainly comics, comic art and sports-related items. Highlights include a 1937 Babe Ruth signed check, a possible one-of-a-kind circa 1930s poster for boxing legend Jack Johnson, original comic strip art for The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician, and eight original Frank Frazetta illustrations for the Ace Tarzan books.
Then, on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m., the grand finale: a day packed with occupational shaving mugs, Americana, militaria, posters, circus items and ballet collectibles. Featured will be many rare and one-of-a-kind occupational shaving mugs from a lifetime single-owner collection, a Confederate uniform and jacket, early 34- and 38-star American flags and a JFK watch band.
