News-Antique.com - May 01,2012 - This collection of “new, old stock, mint in box” toys from 1940’s and beyond came from the Mauler family. The original Mauler store was a dry goods store on Eastern Ave near the present Inner Harbor of Baltimore. This was started by Conrad Mauler, and later was carried on by his youngest son who started C.Mauler & Sons on Fleet Street in the Fells Point section of Baltimore. This became a gathering place in the neighborhood for the local political types. When Conrad retired, he liquidated the business and three of his sons started Mauler Brothers which stayed at it's Fleet Street location until 1953. The store was moved to South Gay Street across the street from what is now the Inner Harbor. They started saving the toys in their original boxes and in some cases cartons. There were still items from the 40's in stock by the time they started collecting. In 1974 Mauler Brothers moved, once again, to Holliday Street, which would be the last site for Mauler Brothers. In 1994, Mauler Brothers closed it's doors for good. At BAHOUKAS Antique Mall, we have a great selection of these Mauler Brothers toys & the reason most of the items look so new is that they have remained boxed and wrapped for all of their life! Georgie Mauler has teamed up with us to allow us to share these toys with you! Come see them! You will NEVER see such a large collection on mint in box toys anywhere else!
