This piece of cake from the wedding of Will and Kate is accompanied by an order of service from the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. It is due to be sold by PFC auctions in May 2012, and is likely to fetch in excess of £1,000.
9) Michael Jackson’s wedding ceremony jacket
This black wool military-style affair, worn by Jackson during his secret wedding to Debbie Rowe in 1996, was sold for $66,000 by Julien’s in June 2010. His marriage certificate to Lisa Marie Presley from 1994 sold for $70,800 by Philip Weiss Auctions in January 2010.
8) Abraham Lincoln’s unused wedding gift
Lincoln bought this blue enamel, diamond-studded, 18-karat gold timepiece with an inscription for Mary Todd in 1841. However, he soon broke off the engagement and gave the watch to a friend instead. Lincoln did eventually marry Todd, but she never received this original gift. It was sold for $71,700 at Heritage Auctions in February 2006.

This original John Lennon drawing, featuring caricature portraits of the newly-married couple, was drawn during their honeymoon Bed-In for Peace in 1969, and given to Yoko as a wedding gift. It was sold by Julien’s Auctions for $90,000 in December 2011.

The pair sold as a single lot for $1,022,500 at Christies in December 2011 during the sale of Taylor’s collections. Also sold was Taylor’s Gina Frattini wedding dress worn during the 1975 ceremony, which brought $62,500.

The Cartier onyx and diamond bracelet worn by Wallis Simpson on the day of her wedding to Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in order to marry her, sold for $4.5 million at Sotheby’s in December 2010.
