News-Antique.com - Mar 18,2012 - Last April 1st (April Fools Day) we had our second annual “Make an Offer Day” (MOD). It was an exciting success for both buyers and seller. Collectors of rare autographs, original vintage movie posters, vintage sports memorabilia, historical photos & documents, and other highly desirable memorabilia and collectibles were ecstatic about their treasured acquisitions at prices the BUYERS set.
What is Make an Offer Day? Well, let me first start by saying over the past 20 years I have had thousands of clients. And, many of those clients much prefer to acquire choice material from us, instead of dealing with all the hassle, extra costs and stress of participating in auctions. We also have a reputation of being flexible with pricing on some of our items (depending on our own cost). A certain percentage of our clientele has been with us for several years and has literally built their entire collections from our inventory. So two years ago I wanted to do something special for our long time customers and launched the Make an Offer Day on April Fool’s Day 2010.
What customers do is look through our inventory and see items they are interested in and decide on a fair offer to make for all the items. They forward that list to us via email, or from the Contact Us link on any page of our site. We then accept the offer or make a counter offer (some offer s are more aggressive and way below our cost). It really is a fun day for all.
So, if you have been watching for and/or waiting to acquire that original 1941 “Wolf Man” lobby card or “Mantis” one sheet this may be the day you’ve been waiting for!
