The auction will kick off Thursday with more than 400 lots of sports-related items, non- sports cards, comics and comic art. With a variety of signed sports memorabilia and additional featured items, it’s an auction collectors will not want to miss. Highlights from Thursday’s auction include:
• Lot 1300 - Rare Punch Cigar Store Advertising Figure Cast in Zinc, Circa 1885. Cast into the base is the following: " Wm. Demuth & Co. Manufacturers New York". 18 1/2" Tall. These are exceedingly rare and only three have come to auction prior to this example in recent years.
• Lot 1098 - Attributed to inaugural Indianapolis 500 racer Lewis Strang. The case lettered uniform shows all the signs of wear and tear you would expect from a worn racing coverall. Label in uniform is from H. L. Sanders the Nation's most prosperous uniform maker.
• Lot 60 - Original and Scarce Opening Day April 18th 1923 Yankee Stadium Program. This day was highlighted by the first home run ever hit in this new stadium. In the third inning Babe Ruth launched a home run into the right field bleachers. Very few of these still survive. This program is in overall fine condition with minimal restoration to secure a separating cover. Great and rare piece of Yankee memorabilia.

• Lot #1153: WW2 Serviceman's Diary of J. Ferris Brogan of Ridgewood NJ. This is a one-of-a-kind, hand written serviceman's diary of a tour of duty in the Pacific Ocean beginning in May 1945 in Pearl Harbor and ending in July 1946 in Guam. The diary is 76 pages long and details his experiences on board the ship USS LSM 465 in the Sea of Japan. As a member of the “initial occupation” after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, Brogen chronicles a chilling eye witness account of the city after the explosion of the Atomic Bomb of August 9, 1945.
• Lot #1348: Two-page handwritten letter on White Star Stationary "On board R.M.S. Titanic," dated April 11, 1912, four days before the sinking.
