Royal Bayreuth, art glass, more to be sold at Woody Auction, March 24th Four fine collections comprising over 500 quality lots of art glass, Royal Bayreuth, furniture pieces and more will be offered without reserve on Saturday, March 24, by Woody Auction in Wichita, Kan.
#2693 silver plate stand; and a pink satin basket with herringbone mother-of-pearl melon ribbed bowl with green interior, set on a Wilcox silver plate frame.
Other brides baskets include a pink satin melon ribbed bowl with enameled floral décor and green interior, set on a Wilcox silver plate base; a star crimped melon ribbed apricot satin diamond quilted bowl with pink interior and gold enameled floral décor; and a square blue satin diamond quilted bowl with enamel bird and branch décor and Pairpoint #2265 silver plate stand.
Moser pieces will feature a lovely and tall 17 ½ inch green to clear art glass tankard with a completely decorated enamel floral décor; and an 8 ¾ inch cranberry tri-corner shaped art glass vase with heavy enamel floral and insect décor, with gilt metal figural feet. Also sold will be an 8 ¾ inch white, pink and yellow satin art glass vase with coralline overlay, a truly gorgeous piece.
Other art glass lots will include an 8-inch cranberry pillow-shaped footed vase with nice daffodil coralline décor; and a pair of 14-inch dark cranberry candle lustres with double prism rows, white enamel floral décor with gold stencil highlights. Silver will also be offered, to include an impressive 106-piece set of “Medici” pattern Gorham sterling flatware and chest set.
Rounding out just some of the day’s expected top lots are a 5 inch by 8 inch Nakara round hinged dresser box in a rare sea foam mold, with green and pink tones and a pink floral décor; a 6 ½ inch Mt. Washington Burmese melon ribbed cruet with original stopper; and a rare 5-piece figural bronze smoke set, with a tray, candlestick, matchbox holder and two waste bowls.
Phone and absentee bids will be accepted. All absentee bids should be submitted with a written statement indicating the amount of the bid. These must be received no later than noon Thurs., Mar. 22.
