News-Antique.com - Feb 07,2012 - WhatSellsBest.com, reports a Les Paul Guitar recently purchased on History Channels 'Pawn Stars' (for $90k), fetched a final bid of $110,000 selling on eBay. The sale included some surprising personal items belonging to Les Paul.
The Guitar, a vintage 1961 Gibson SG Les Paul Custom previously belonged to Les Paul’s ex-wife Mary Ford. Shortly after the episode airing the guitars $90k purchase from Mary Fords nephew on Pawn Stars, it was put up for auction on eBay.
Surprising personal items belonging to Les Paul were also included in the sale. According to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars) eBay listing, a letter included with the guitar states; "Les is told Not to sign a contract with Gibson." This advice (if followed) could have dramatically altered the fortunes of both Paul and Gibson.
