BOSTON, February 7, 2012 – On February 15th and 16th, Alderfer Auction Center of Hatfield, PA will conduct their Single Owner Estate Auction for Stephen Flood. This two-day event will feature Flood’s collection of artwork, relics, and artifacts representing both American and world history. Bidding will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern on both the 15th and 16th. Previews will be held Monday and Tuesday, February 13-14th, from 9-5, and February 15-16th from 8-10 a.m. The sale will take place in Hatfield at 501 Fairgrounds Road, as well as live online at AuctionZip.com. Born in 1943 in Wayne, PA, Stephen Flood attended Devon Prep School, Villanova University and Wilkes College before beginning a varied and colorful career as a soldier, banker, financial officer and business owner. Compelled by a love of history, Flood took advantage of his opportunity as CEO of an antique military auction house and surrounded himself with items, relics and artifacts from historical periods in America and around the world. These items include a number of antique firearms, flags, uniforms, fine antique furniture, high-quality china and porcelain, and a large collection of fine and decorative artwork.
Flood’s extensive military collection will also be for sale and includes authentic head gear, awards and silver, needlework, firearms, edged weapons and historical documents. Fine and decorative art features a collections of Staffordshire transfer ware, Russian icons, stoneware, silver, mounted animals and furniture, and bronze sculptures.
