The most expensive car of 2011, and the most expensive ever sold at a public auction, is the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Prototype. One of just two factory Classiche-certified Testa Rossas in existence, the car has a race history featuring every major worldwide event.
Described by Gooding & Co founder David Gooding as “one of the greatest race cars of all time”, the Ferrari made history at the company’s Pebble Beach auction in August when it sold for a World record price of $16,390,000.
