News-Antique.com - Dec 22,2011 - Pacific Galleries Auction To Feature Extensive Selection of Antique Furniture
Figurines and artwork also among luxury items to be auctioned live in Seattle and at Artfact.com
BOSTON, December 21,2011 – On January 9, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Pacific Galleries will host an Americana, Furniture & Accessories Auction. The sale will take place in Seattle at 241 South Lander Street, as well as live online at Artfact.com. The auction boasts a large collection of fine antiques, furniture, figurines, amazing artwork and other luxury goods. Previews and photos of items and advance bidding for this sale are available now on Artfact.com.
With only 116 lots, bidders will have ample time to study each item. The selection of fine antique furniture is extensive and impressive. Many of the furniture items for auction come in pairs or sets, making them even more useful for buyers. A pair of mid-late 19th century Victorian walnut side chairs, complete with foliate carving and low scrolling arms, are in excellent condition and would make a beautiful addition to any home. Lots 36 and 39 each display pairs of antique, tall-back, maple side chairs. One pair features a ladder-back design while the other has turned splat upright back supports. Both “Pilgrim-Century” type pairings are an excellent representation of the revival of early-American craftsmanship. Another furniture piece for sale is a beautiful antique Southern American rosewood bookcase with upper and lower compartments, an arched top and glazed upper compartment doors. It can be used for display or storage while bringing character to any room.
Jewelry, artwork and other items will also be available in this auction. A vintage Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet, stamped with design patterns suggestive of Navajo workmanship, will allure both jewelry and Native American artifacts collectors. Original paintings and lithographs from artists around the world are also available, as are unique, inventive sculptures made from marble, bronze and cedar.
