News-Antique.com - Dec 05,2011 - Russo and Steele Collector Automobiles, one of the nation’s premier collector car auctions, specializing in European sports cars, American muscle cars, hot rods and customs announces dramatic new improvements to its Scottsdale auction venue.
The 12th Annual Scottsdale Auction Event January 18-22, 2012 will remain in Russo and Steele’s traditional location, the intersection of the Loop 101 Freeway and Scottsdale Road, in North Scottsdale, Arizona. Following last year’s advances with the addition of the new main auction structure by Losberger, approximately the size of a football field, and encompassing of all the auction operations including vehicle staging and amenities associated with Russo and Steele the auction house has exceeded last year’s efforts.
Russo and Steele is in the process of completely excavating its venue location. During this process it is blading and grading the site and adding hard surface asphalt. These renovations offer significant advantages for weather proofing, drainage and overall venue appeal. In addition to these improvements Russo and Steele has successfully signed a multi-year agreement that will keep Russo and Steele a vibrant part of the Scottsdale Collector Car landscape for many years to come.
Drew Alcazar, co-owner and CEO of Russo and Steele, commented on the new improvements and its effect on the Scottsdale auction event: “A huge ‘thank you’ goes out to our partners at the State Land Department and the City of Scottsdale Mayor, Council and Staff. The improvements to venue will ensure that Russo and Steele is able to continue to produce the long standing quality event we have invested so many years to build. The major investment in our venue this year enables us to overcome one of our largest adversities – the lack of hard surface asphalt and the temporary nature of our site. The combination of our multi-year land agreement and the permission for the changes we’re making to our venue has Russo and Steele eagerly anticipating the ability to grow and improve with the City of Scottsdale as we move forward both this year and well into the future.”
The incorporation of these significant changes, the continuation of Russo and Steele’s “all-encompassing environment,” the easy freeway access to the North Loop 101, ample parking in close proximity to the auction event, and valet services has assisted in designing a venue in which car collectors and hobbyists will be duly impressed. Alcazar continued by stating that he “strives to produce an event that he himself wants to attend, and one that he would find equally exciting along with providing the amenities that collecting enthusiasts now expect and demand.”
The auction continues to offer the highest quality, most luxurious and collectable European sports, American muscle, hot rods and custom automobiles suitable to satisfy any automotive desires. The five day event will auction over 700 collectable automobiles in its highly interactive, visceral ground level auction arena that provides cars with no separation from the buyers; known as the “auction-in-the-round” format and only found at Russo and Steele auction events.
