News-Antique.com - Nov 15,2011 - The iGavel Auctions sale of Asian, Ancient, and Ethnographic Works of Art presented by Lark Mason and iGavel Associates that closed on November 4th had 303 sold lots resulting in a total of over $3,100,000. Successful bidders came from many countries, including the People’s Republic of China.
The top two highest lots sold had 56 bids, reaching a cumulative price of $1.1 million. These lots were a Large Chinese Huanghuali Cabinet from the Kangxi Period, and a Chinese Rhinoceros Horn Libation Cup from the 17th Century.
The Lark Mason iGavel Auctions sale included five Rhinoceros Horn Libation Cups. These cups received 96 bids and sold for $1.6 million in total.
Included in this were a Chinese Huanghuali Dressing Table Cabinet, 17th Century, a Chinese Calligraphic Scroll, attributed to Zhu Gui, Qianlong Period, and an 11th Century Korean Buddhist Hanging Scroll Painting, Ink/Paint on Paper, each of which sold for over $100,000 including the buyer’s premium. Ten lots from this auction achieved prices above $50,000 and had 282 bids placed.
