The other example for "Strange Girl-Alive" is an image of a spider with a woman's head (estimate $3,000-5,000). For those die-hard Ohio folk art fans, there will be several lots by Elijah Pierce offered from a private consignor as well as the Columbus Museum of Art to benefit its acquisition fund. Estimated at $4,000-5,000, a relief carved panel by Pierce titled Big "I" Little You depicts a succession of people and a balance scales. A carved wooden cane with original paint by Pierce with snake and face below a handle in the form of a long billed bird's head is set with rhinestone eyes and carries an estimate of $400-800.
