This sale is now live and ends on November 2nd at www.iGavelAuctions.com. The auction includes close to 500 lots, of which the majority are Asian. There is a live exhibition of select works from the auction on October 24-28, 2011, from 10AM-4PM at the iGavel Gallery, located at 227 East 120th Street, New York NY 10035.
iGavel Auctionsí Asian sales continue to be highly anticipated by the antiquities and fine art community. This yearís Fall auction includes a Large Chinese Huanghuali Cabinet from the Kangxi Period. This cabinet was brought to market from an esteemed educational institution.
Another area of interest in this Asian sale are a group of five rhinoceros horn libation cups from the seventeenth century. Five different collectors have provided Lark Mason and iGavel Auctions with these unique and historic cups, which make up an important part of this Asian sale.
Other notable items are: a Chinese celadon jade duck, 18th century; a pair of Chinese porcelain copper-red glazed dishes, Qianlong period; a large bamboo root carving of finger citron, Late 18th to Early 19th century; a Chinese yellow glass brushwasher, inscribed with four-character Qianlong mark and of the period; and a Chinese Huanghuali dressing table cabinet, 17th century.
