The Wikicollecting Top 10 Most Expensive Star Wars Memorabilia To celebrate the recent Star Wars Blu-Ray release, the collectibles encyclopaedia Wikicollecting.org presents a list of the ten most expensive pieces of Star Wars memorabilia ever sold at auction.

Although derided by many fans on it release (and pretty much ever since), memorabilia from The Phantom Menace has still proven popular with collectors. And in 2001 a UNICEF charity auction organized by Qui-Gon Jinn himself, Liam Neeson, featured his very own lightsaber from the 1999 film.
It sold at the Movie Action for Children auction in New York for a price of $54,000, making it the most expensive item of memorabilia from all three of the prequels.
+++ 9) Luke Skywalker’s Flight Suit from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - $60,000
In July 2005 a Profiles in History auction featured the remarkable prop collection of Gary Kurtz, producer of the first two Star Wars films along with George Lucas’ second feature film ‘American Graffiti’. His collection featured an extensive array of Star Wars props, several of which appear in this list.
The first is Luke Skywalker’s orange X-Wing flight suit from the climactic battle of Episode IV, which sold at the auction in Beverly Hills for a price of $60,000.
+++ 8) Darth Vader Helmet, Mask and Shoulder Armour from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - $70,000
The first Darth Vader mask to feature on the list was used during the filming of The Empire Strikes Back, considered by most fans to be the greatest of all six films. The costume was reassembled and repainted to its original condition in 1992 by the Lucasfilm resident archivist Don Bies, who then mounted it inside a plexiglass display case.
It was sold with a letter of authentication by George Lucas himself during a Profiles in History auction in December 2003 for a price of $70,000.
+++ 7) Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Cloak from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - $95,900
Based on Ralph McQuarrie’s conceptual designs, the last of the Jedi Knights appeared as a nomadic monk rather than a great warrior. Not only is ‘Old Ben’ Kenobi’s cloak indicative of the peaceful nature of the Force, it’s also the only thing left of him after his battle with Darth Vader in Episode IV.
The iconic costume appeared in the first two original films, and then remained in storage in Los Angeles until the Bonhams auction in 2007 when it was sold for a price of $95,900.
+++ 6) Chewbacca Head from Star Wars - $100,000
As played by the 7’ 3” tall actor Peter Mayhew, Chewbacca is undoubtedly the hairiest sidekick in film history. Five identical costumes were created for the character, all made from a combination of yak hair and mohair, through which only Mayhew’s blue eyes could be seen.
One of the five masks appeared during a Profiles in History auction in Beverly Hills in August 2007, where it sold for a price of $100,000.
