News-Antique.com - Sep 08,2011 - WhatSellsBest.com, a website tracking rare auction items selling on eBay, is reporting bidding has passed $12,000 on day six of a seven day auction, for a rare (mint condition) vintage Beatles Record Album.
The album, 'The Beatles - Please Please Me' is the debut album by the English rock band which was put out by the Parlophone record label on March 22, 1963.
Rolling Stone later called the album; "[the invention of] the idea of the self-contained rock band, writing their own hits and playing their own instruments".
According to James Massey, Publisher of WSB; "The album currently holds the top spot (highest active auction price) in the vintage vinyl category on eBay. But, a 'Please Please Me' album did fetch $15,902 last year (September 2010), so it's going to be interesting to see is this one passes it."
[UPDATE: 'The Beatles - Please Please Me' album sold on eBay with a top bid of $18k, on September 9, 2011]
