A SUMMER AUCTION IN “TWO ACTS” AT GARTH’S “Summer stock” may regularly refer to acting, but in August, Garth’s will present theatrical productions of its own sort with a duo of summer auctions on its own stage August 5-6 in Delaware, Ohio.

The Friday, August 5th Eclectic sale precedes the above items at auction. With over 800-1000 to cross the block during the day, bidders will see the a selection of Asian items as well, in addition to jewelry, political collectibles, formal and country furniture, folk art, silver, pottery, porcelains, firearms, textiles and more.
Of the furniture, an L.G. Stickley bedroom suite, along with painted corner cupboards, stepback cupboards, blanket chests and pie safes, will attract attention. Clocks, including tall case examples and mantle examples by Seth Thomas, Ansonia, Gilbert & Son, and Spaulding & Co., will also be sold.
A nine-piece desk set by Tiffany Studios New York in the "Abalone" pattern is particularly nice and carries an estimate of $2000-3000. Gilt brass with mother-of-pearl inlay, the set includes a pair of bookends, an ink blotter, an ink well with glass insert, a calendar, a clip, a box with lift-out tray, and two end pieces. A Pairpoint lamp stands just over 22” and is topped with a reverse painted shade signed “H. Fisher” depicting a forest on a patinated urn form base signed with a "P" in a diamond (Est. $400-600).
