News-Antique.com - Jul 11,2011 - WhatSellsBest.com, a website tracking top selling eBay items, is reporting a vintage Rolling Stones Concert Poster fetched a winning bid of $14,101, in a seven day auction on eBay.
According to the seller's listing, the 14 X 22 inch poster was received (by the seller) directly from the concerts promoter Martin Cohn, after it was removed from a display case at Memorial Auditorium in Louisville, Kentucky. The Louisville concert (November 14, 1964) was the 3rd stop of the tour, which also happened to be the Rolling Stones first U.S. Tour
According to James Massey, publisher of WhatSellsBest.com; "Anytime a collectible has that magic combination of historical significance that can be tied to a defining moment in pop culture, it has the potential to drive collectors wild. The Rolling Stones went on to become one of the worlds iconic rock bands, it's easy to see why bidding would go so high on one of their earliest (U.S.) posters."
