Cordier Antiques & Auctions Spring Catalog Auction June 11 & 12 Cordier Antiques & Auctions will be holding their Two Day Spring Antique & Fine Art auction in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania on June 11 and 12. Highlights of the sale include a 19th century French tric tra
vases and a bowl. Another key lot is a figural tea caddy in the form of an eggplant (estimate $800-$1,200). Highlights of Chinese arts include a 19th century dragon robe, a carved ivory covered urn/incense burner, and a terra cotta Han burial horse circa 206-221. Among woodblocks are five Sino-Japanese triptychs of various war scenes as well as the pentaptych Procession of a Young Nobleman and his Suite by Rekisentei Eiri (active 1790-18800) (estimate $2,000-$3,000).
Sunday’s auction will conclude with fine art including paintings, bronzes, and prints. Highlights among paintings include a large oil on canvas by Eduard Steinbruck (German, 1802-1882) estimated at $5,000-$7,000. Also of note is a watercolor Cavalier et Cheval, Jaune et Bleu by Marino Marini (Italian, 1901-1981) (estimate $10,000-$15,000) and a portrait of a lady by James Brade Sword (American, 1839-1915) (estimate $7,000-$10,000). Among other portraits is a Colonial portrait of Isaac Stoutenburgh, a member of the New York State Senate from 1778 to 1787. Paintings by such as artists as Henry A. Ferguson (American, 1845-1911), Arthur M. Foweraker (British, 1873-1942), George E. Browne (American, 1871-1946), Warren Davis (American, 1864-1928) and Luigi Loir (French, 1845-1916) will also be offered.
Among prints are works by Picasso, Erte, Icart, Miro, Dali, O. Winston Link, Wilfred Loring and Andrew Wyeth. Among bronzes are works by Erte, Jean-Didier Debut (French, 1824-1893), Adrien E. Gaudez (French, 1845-1902), Alphonse A. Arson (French, 1822-1880), Jules Moigniez (French, 1835-1894), Johannes Dommisse (1878-1955), and James Earle Fraser (American, 1876-1953). Of note is a carved marble bust entitled “Beatrice” by Prof. G. Besgi (estimate $1,500-$2,000).
