£1m collection of memorabilia to be displayed in London for the first time. Memorabilia including Marilyn Monroe’s hair, Sir Winston Churchill’s spectacles and unique parts from the Spirit of St Louis will be displayed at the London Investor Show on 20th May.
News-Antique.com - May 10,2011 - A unique collection of memorabilia valued at over £1m will be displayed at The London Investor Show at the Olympia Exhibition Centre on Friday 20th May.
The collection includes:
-Marilyn Monroe’s blonde hair as cut and collected by her personal hairdresser the day she sang ‘Happy Birthday Mr President’
-A Victoria Cross medal accompanied by the canon ball that removed the recipients arm at the Siege of Sevastapol
-A unique collection of parts taken from the historic Spirit of St Louis flight – the remainder being in the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC
- A Great Britain Tyrian Plum postage stamp – one of just 12 known to exist with three being in the Royal Philatelic Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
-Buzz Aldrin’s Apollo 11 training suit, signed by Buzz
-The Pierrepoint Collection – a collection of personal items once owned by Britain’s most famous hangman
-Frankie Dettori’s signed racing goggles from his historic seven timer at Ascot racecourse
-Sir Winston Churchill’s personal spectacles
The collection will be displayed by experts from Paul Fraser Collectibles.
