News-Antique.com - Apr 06,2011 - Apr 06, 2011 – HIGHWOOD, IL--Add another community to the growing numbers with vintage markets in the U.S. Just north of Chicago, the City of Highwood is proud to introduce the addition of the North Shore Flea to its renowned Evening Gourmet Farmers Market. This sustainable vintage market will bring some 20 vendors from around the greater Chicago area to showcase their wares to the North Shore every Wednesday beginning June 15th.
"Like choosing locally grown fruits and vegetables, buying vintage goods is a sustainable activity," says Melissa Sands, organizer, North Shore Flea Market. "The combination of these two events offers an opportunity to have good, green and healthy fun while supporting local merchants and local farmers."
Exhibiting alongside the Evening Gourmet Farmers Market at Highwood’s City Hall Park, 17 Highwood Avenue, the North Shore Flea Market will run weekly from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. through August 31st, and then 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through September 14th, rain or shine. Free to the public, attendees will relish in some of the hottest trends in vintage today, from furniture, décor, jewelry, vintage bikes and more. New items will be featured each week.
