Maloney, Jr. of Appraisal Course Associates has received the 2011 International Society of Appraiser's (ISA) Publication Award for his book, “Appraising Personal Property: Principles & Methodology" 4th Edition.
Published by Appraisers Press in 2010, the 570-page book is a comprehensive course book and reference guide to the underlying core appraisal knowledge required of today's professional personal property appraiser including appraisal principles, methodology, practices, theory, ethics, standards and report writing.
The Award is presented for the most outstanding written work involving the appraisal profession as a whole. In selecting Maloney's book, consideration was given to the degree the work enhances the appraisal profession including its growth, credibility and image. "In my opinion, it is an outstanding resource," said ISA Awards Committee Chair, Martha Peck, ISA CAPP.
Maloney, managing partner at Appraisal Course Associates, received the honor during an awards ceremony held in conjunction with the ISA's recent Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.
"My goal was to share the knowledge I've gained in over 30-years of appraising with both experienced as well as novice appraisers in the hopes of improving their performance as professional personal property appraisers," said Maloney. "The International Society of Appraisers is a respected professional appraisal society and I am honored by their recognition," he continued.
