First Complete Guide to Asian Art Events in NYC With more than 100 galleries and auctioneers offering up Asian art and antiques March 18 - 27, Asian Arts Week is the comprehensive guide to all the events. Accessible on the web and in print.
News-Antique.com - Mar 07,2011 - NEW YORK CITY. With more than a hundred galleries mounting special Asian art exhibits loosely tethered to the international Asia art auctions that dominate the New York art scene every March, there has never been a single comprehensive guide for collectors and art lovers. The new Asian Arts Week campaign changes that with a website and print guide to the auctions, dealers and activities. The site is http://asianartsweek.com. The map is distributed citywide.
According to the campaign's director, Regina Kolbe, art writer and president of a boutique public relations firm that specializes in art promotions, "The Asian Arts Week materials establish a reference point for collectors, curators and the many to whom culture is life. The website includes complete listing, dates and times of events. The print map makes it easy for visitors to chart a path to the many citywide galleries offering exhibits."
The campaign to source all the events began in mid-January and in six weeks has emerged as the first comprehensive source for event information during the week of March 18 - 27.
The Asian Arts Week website offers a directory that includes museum exhibits, selling exhibitions and fairs, the lectures, films and performances that have sprung up, adding interest to the basic concept of garnering exquisite sales when the international buyers are in town.
A printed map with all the locations of interest, including galleries, shows, auction houses, gardens and theaters with Asian-themed events, is being distributed throughout the week at exclusive high traffic sites.
It will be available at the concierge desk in select hotels, the Arts of Pacific Asia Show, galleries and auction houses. It is also accessible on the Internet at http//:asianartsweek.com or by mail by sending an email to email@example.com Concierges will have an electronic version of the map, for the convenience of visitors.
The Asian Arts Week campaign includes a podcast, the date of which will be announced on the News page of the website.
"Unifying under a promotional umbrella is nothing new," Ms. Kolbe said. "Asian Arts Week merely furthers that concept by assuring visibility to all dealers and galleries, museums and societies involved in the March 18 - 27 events. The approach gives a clear picture of the week's rich and inspiring events."
