CHICAGO, IL – January 20, 2010 – The vintage craze has swept the fashion scene thanks to shows like Mad Men and Empire Boardwalk and fashion personalities like Rachel Zoe’s obsession with vintage costume jewelry. Whether a guy or girl is new to vintage or is a “throwback” vet, Modern Vintage Chicago (MVC) offers the best selection in the region and is considered among the top three shows in the country.
Modern Vintage Chicago is considered "a fashionista's paradise" for its selection of high quality vintage mixed with top local design talent. It is the only place you will find vintage clothing and accessories by fashion greats such as Balenciaga and alongside Chicago favorites Swaby and Ladysmith Jewelry. Buyers from Ralph Lauren/NYC and stores in Tokyo and Shanghai make the trek to Chicago for this twice annual wholesale vintage boondoggle.
Presented by the producers of the Randolph Street Market, Modern Vintage Chicago returns on April 16-17, 2011 to the West Loop. The show draws vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories vendors from Atlanta, NYC, Texas and Philadelphia along with local dealers including Mr. Modern, Go Fish Vintage and Jane Chang. Product highlights include luxurious mink coats from Palm Beach vendor Dorothy Loud; the expansive collection of Louis bags and furniture from The Vuittonier’s Marco Astrologo of Rome, Italy; and fine jewelry (including diamonds) from . The diversity and quality of the selection draws industry insiders who style celebs like Madonna and Sienna Miller.
“This is the perfect girlfriend outing,” says producer Sally Schwartz. “Our bargain savvy shoppers come early, grab tea or a mimosa, and spend quality time looking for right pieces to compliment their wardrobes.”
Shoppers will have the opportunity to check out the product during informal modeling presentations. Also, on Saturday from 2-4pm Get Styled! with Haute Closet’s April Francis. Other opportunities to learn about vintage jewelry ad learn about historic trends in today’s fashions with an informative seminar by MVC’s fashion director Nena Ivon.
