Swirl is an interesting pattern with a lot of looks yet it is one of the most affordable depression glass patterns in either pink or ultramarine. Pink dinner plates are about $30 as of January 2011 which compares well to Cherry Blossom, and is more affordable than Adam where dinner plates are about $40. Even the harder to find pieces, like tumblers or candle holders, are affordable.
It is so much more pleasant to collect something that takes a bit of looking yet is reasonably plentiful and you can afford to purchase when you do find it. Swirl is an excellent choice if you are just starting to collect glassware. When you do find Swirl always check both the outer and inner edges of the petal rim for any nicks or rubs. The rim edge is round not sharp so you won’t have a lot of inner rim roughness.
Jeannette Swirl is a pretty pattern with enough pieces to make it fun to seek, easy enough to find that you don’t get discouraged, and affordable enough to purchase.
