Floridiana Festival & Highwaymen Artist Show The Sunshine State's LARGEST show and sale of vintage Florida souvenris and memorabila, plus Florida Highwaymen art, Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Historic Garden Club of St. Petersburg.
features are planned at the Floridiana Festival. Author Lu Vickers will give two presentations on her books - Weeki Wachee: City of Mermaids, and Cypress Gardens: America's Tropical Wonderfland. The Indian Rocks Historical Museum will have their always interesting booth on display, and Florida Highwaymen artist Robert Lewis will be giving a painting demonstration. Plus several other Florida authors will be exhibiting and selling from their own collections of Floridiana, including Larry Roberts, author of Florida's Golden Age of Souvenirs: 1890-1930. When tired of walking the exhibit floor, enjoy some vintage Florida tourism flicks, including old footage of the famous Weeki Wachee mermaids, as well as tourism spots which featured Florida icons such as Cypress Garden water skiers, and men wrestling with alligators. Live music, food concessions and a cash bar help make the day a relaxing one.
