Galleries December 10-12
André Kertész (1894-1985)
Chairs on the Champs-Elysées, 1927
Estimate: $8,000 - 12,000
A fine example of the sensibility of The Baum Family Collection,
the Chicago-based photography patrons, this print by Kertész
is incredibly charming. The Hungarian-born photographer
was interested in reinterpreting his sometimes mundane
surroundings into delightfully simple, yet elegant
compositions, such as we find in this image, Chairs on the
Champs-Elysées, 1927.
