Decotique Lecture in Washington Township NJ Nov. 8 - Kate @ Decotique presented an entertaining and educational talk on Ladies' and Gentlemen's Accessories of Days Gone By to the Margaret E. Heggan Library, Washington Township, NJ.
News-Antique.com - Nov 27,2010 - Items from the Victorian and Edwardian Eras, Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were discussed and displayed. Kate presented information on antique beaded purses, German, flapper Whiting Davis mesh handbags, Arts and Crafts period tooled leather bags and much more. There was discussion of period millinery, footwear, vanity items, early bathing costumes and Atlantic City Memorabilia. An array of antique photographs, cabinet cards and ephemera of our ancestors modeling latest fashions of the times graced the room for all to enjoy. Guests were welcome to bring items for show and tell. Informal evaluations for personal items were welcome.
Decotique.com, were items may be purchased, was created in 2008 in honor of Kate’s daughter, Jessica, who succumbed to Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at age 28. Ten percent of Decotique’s proceeds benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Presentations are tailored to groups' preferred topics.
