Christmas Tree Candles and Clip-On Candle Holders – Antique Christmas Decorations Make a Comeback The Philadelphia-based shop, Christmas Gifts from Germany, unveils a line of traditional Christmas Tree Candles and Christmas Tree Candle Holders for antiquers, collectors and eco-shoppers.
News-Antique.com - Nov 10,2010 - Philadelphia -- Candles for the Christmas tree, clip-on Christmas tree candle holders, tin candle clips and weighted pendulum Christmas tree candle holders?
Our grandparents grew up with them. Christmas collectors and antiques dealers know and love them. But ask the average shopper about Christmas candle lights and you’re likely to get a puzzled look.
A small Philadelphia-based importer today unveiled its line of genuine German-made vintage and antique-style Christmas Tree Candle Holders and Christmas Tree Candles for the 2010 Christmas season.
The web shop, Christmas Gifts from Germany, (www.christmasgiftsfromgermany.com) is a low-tech refuge for shoppers who are looking for alternatives to LED Christmas lights, electric tree lights and high-tech Christmas decorations.
The shop specializes in the little-known and hard-to-find, including the
Clip-On Christmas Tree Candle Holder or Candle Clip:
Fastens to the limb and includes a wax catcher and adjustable base. The clip on candle holders are available in two designs.
Pendulum Christmas Tree Candle Holder – Pine Cone:
A hanging candle holder with a stem that loops over the limb and has a pine cone counterweight to keep the candle upright
Pendulum Christmas Tree Candle Holder – Kugel:
A hanging candle holder with a stem and counterweight shaped as a “Kugel” or ball.
Pendulum Christmas Tree Candle Holder – Star:
A hanging candle holder with a stem and dangling counterweight in the shape of a star.
Christmas Tree Candles:
Specialty candles from Germany made expressly to fit Christmas candle holders, available in red and white.
Shop owner, Tom Conrad, sources the vintage Christmas tree lights directly from Germany. “We work with a small family-owned producer, one of the few left that still makes Christmas candle clips and pendulum candle holders,” said Conrad, who knows the owners and has visited the tiny village where they are located.
“It’s a small, craft-scale process. The candle holders are made on traditional die machines. Each holder involves several individual production steps,” he added.
Traditional Christmas candles, old-fashioned German candle clips holders and pendulum tree candle holders are making a comeback. This underscores how popular vintage and antique themes have become in Christmas decorating.
LED Christmas lights, LED icicles and ready-made LED Christmas trees are sweeping the market, but some shoppers are balking. LED Christmas lights are low energy, but they’re definitely high-tech.
Christmas candles are worth considering as an alternative for shoppers who want to simplify Christmas, go green and “get the LED out.“ Christmas tree candles use no electricity so they’re even greener than LED Christmas lights.
Others may choose candlepower just because they like the look. Regardless of the reason, safety and common sense are crucial. The Christmas candles have to be positioned well away from other ornaments, limbs, etc., that could catch fire, and the tree may not be left unattended.
Traditional Christmas tree candle holders and Christmas candles are available at the Christmas Gifts from Germany web store. Stock is limited. For questions call +1 215 991 9892 or email the store at christmasgiftsfromgermany@gmail.com.
