News-Antique.com - Nov 10,2010 - “This was a sale of headlines,” said David Rago. “$5.6 million in sales – our best results in three years….Early 20th C. at levels not seen since 2007…. Roycroft furniture and metal off the charts….Lalique and Tiffany through the roof, including a Tiffany fern bowl for $25,620 that sold at a local auction for $125 just two months ago….A 30-piece Tiffany Studios glass collection from a Florida retiree doubled its estimate....Modern was a bit uneven, with a sell-through rate of just under 80%, but still hammered at low estimate. Dunbar, Kagan, Evans and Powell were all strong, as was Paley, particularly the stunner of a necklace. Schreckengost’s “Jazz” bowl, our cover lot, hit $154,000 in spite of clearly stated condition issues. We already have in hand several important collections for the next 20th C. Design auction in February and we are ready to receive consignment inquiries.”
