News-Antique.com - Nov 10,2010 - Lambertville, NJ On Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11 AM and 2 PM, the Rago Arts and Auction Center holds a two session auction of fine art, the vast majority new to the market, fresh from private hands, secured in the US and abroad. On Sunday, November 14 at 12 PM, Rago’s will sell the Collection of Bernarda and Ben Shahn, which includes over 130 lots of fine art, as well as Asian and ethnographic art and Modern furnishings.
“People have been holding back property for the past two years. This is changing and our November 13 sale is a case in point,” said Meredith Hilferty, Director of Fine Art. “We are selling many noteworthy works held privately for decades that should be destined for important collections, including, for example, work by Sol LeWitt, Mark Tobey, Red Grooms and Boris Lovet-Lorski.”
